I always find it interesting to see how inspiration strikes. It comes from all sorts of places. Kirsten at MakeTheBestOfEverything loved a particular brand of lip balm and wanted to replicate the flavor. Outcome? One tasty smoothie recipe that also happens to taste like Jelly Belly pear! (Much better than eating lip balm, lol!)

Kristen’s tip: Cut ripe pears into slices and freeze them ahead of time for added chill in your smoothie. And that goes for most fruit. It works well because you then have a sweeter fruit, thus a sweeter smoothie without adding natural (or unnatural!) sweeteners.

Kirsten’s two little boys love green smoothies and she says …

I don’t know if they realize that it’s spinach that makes them green, I certainly don’t hid it from them while I am making the smoothies. This coconut-pear green smoothie is really sweet and tastes more like a dessert than something healthy.
