I sometimes wonder if winter will ever end. It’s been cold and wet for months without a good long cold spell to kill the bugs, so loads of folks have coughs, colds and flu again. Don’t know about you but a big boost of Vitamin C would do me good right about now!

Brittany at EatingBirdFood reminds us that Vitamin C is found lots of foods and not just oranges. Did you know a helping of kale has more than an orange? And of her smoothie recipe, she says …

In addition to having a high level of vitamin C, this smoothie also packs high levels of vitamin A and a good amount of calcium and iron. You also get a little healthy fat (9 grams), protein (8 grams) and fiber (8 grams). These components make the smoothie more filling and the healthy fat content helps your body absorb the fat soluble vitamins. Drink up!
